Last night at work this family of gypsies (that is really the only thing I can think of to describe these people) came into my store. They stood on the Valentine aisle and generally made a mess. One of my employees was outside getting the trash and suddenly came running in asking if we had sold some big stuffed animals. Nope. So we go outside and see a basket by one of the cars and she goes and looks in teh car and TA-DA, there they are. The rest of the family was busily trying to destract me and whomever else they could by saying they lost thier cell phone, etc. In the end, we got all our stuff back, and they left in 3 seperate cars, one of which was a brand spankin new Mustang. They had already tried the same scheme on two other drug stores on the same major street mine is located on. I made a friend at CVS last night commiserating about the crazy family. LOL.
I started the Couch to 5K program again today. I tried it once before, but it was summer in Texas, and I didn't want to have a heat stroke, so I stopped. Now I am doing it at the gym on the treadmill. I ran for 8 whole minutes today...granted, they were 90 seconds apart for each minute, but I did it.
Another exciting day of work in T minus 2 hours.

Tonight I went to see Marley and Me. OMG, so sad. Especially if you have a dog at home. It was honestly the most I cried since The Green Mile. It made me really appreciate my Missy (see icon). When I got home, I was showered with kisses, partially because my hands were probably still buttery from the popcorn, but also because I haven't been home since 9:30 this morning. That is practically forever in dog time. If you have a dog, give him/her an extra hug every once in a while, I know that after seeing that movie, that I will.
So on to the childfree talk. A coworker of mine said something to me today about when was I going to have kids. I have made a decision not to have children, for multiple reasons such as a family history of mental illness, and health issues of my own. Anyway, I replied that I wasn't going to have kids. This jerk had the balls to tell me that I am selfish for not wanting to have children. That I will never know what it is like to provide for someone. Give me a break dude. I gave him all kinds of crap about it. He doesn't know my life or my situation. All he does is complain about how he needs to get a second job because his wife is 8 months pregnant with their second child and on bedrest, so they are missing an income. He did everything he could to make me feel like crap during the conversation. Blah, I need to ignore this idiot, for more reasons than just this one, but that is a whole nother entry.
Gotta go read my sappy romance novel now.

I haven't really posted much lately, but I thought I would update and post what has been going on. Clay and I decided to start riding motorcycles, with the hopes of one day being able to take long rides on our kick ass Harleys...LOL. So this weekend we took a Motorcycle Safety course. Oh the fun. I am book smart, so the classroom portion was a breeze for me.
The riding, not so much. I actually feel like I did fairly well as a whole, but I did have one major accident, and I BARELY passed the test...OMG. At one point, after practicing everything that we need to know in order to pass the exam at the end, we were to go back to our "staging" aka parking area and kill our bike and dismount. I forgot a critical step in the process. That step being putting down my kickstand. So, when I got off my bike, it fell over, knocking me to the ground. Luckily, I was still wearing my helmet, so when my head hit the ground, I didnt feel a thing. Unluckily, my ankle was pinned under the bike, and the guys in my class had to bail me out. My ankle is a bit sore, but I am fine as a whole. The bike, on the other hand, took a beating. I actually broke the end off the clutch lever. My instructor had to take time out of the class to change it. I kept the broken one as a reminder to always put my kickstand down!
I passed the final exam, but just barely. You are allowed a maximum of 20 points, with the goal being to get the least amount of points possible. Showoff Clay only got 4 points. I got 19...ouch. But I passed, and it was mostly jitters from the guy watching and timing me. Woo! I will go take the written portion tomorrow because my license expires on Tuesday anyway, and I want a new picture, etc.
Now I am sitting here waiting on my friends to show up to go out to dinner for my birthday. My actual birthday isnt until Tuesday, but who can go out on a weekday? We are going for sushi...woo! Clay read an article by Guy Fieri that said the definition of Sushi is "seasoned rice," so he insists that he is only having seasoned rice...LOL.
Picture post coming soon....

I joined LA Fitness last week and had my free fitness consultation thing with one of the trainers today. Wow. I am going to die, like tomorrow...for real. I just really don't want to spend 160 to 600 bucks a month on that right now. I have a friend from WW that I have been going to the gym with and I think that it is working out just fine right now. I am 45% body fat right now and that is really high and I need a trainer so I don't get heart disease or type 2 diabetes. I hate scare tactics.
I went to my moms house a little bit ago to take her some cough medicine because she is sick and she was sleeping through the Steve Wilkos show. I don't know if anyone has watched that before but it is completely ridiculous. He basically stood on the stage yelling at this lady because she is a crack addict that had an abortion. He kept calling her a baby killer and a pig. She had the abortion because she is a crack addict...HELLO. I just felt sorry for her because he was being so horrible to her. Then he told her to quit having kids because she was a horrible mother. Um, you just told her she was a baby killer, yet you think she shouldn't have any more kids...it was just all really dumb. Worse than Jerry Springer if you ask me.
In other news, I have started going to the gym in the last month or so. I haven't posted about it yet because I didn't want to jinx myself. I am actually enjoying it a bit and have lost weight at Weight Watchers the last two meetings....yay.
Work has been crazy lately. We have inventory on the 25th and we are so not ready. It always ends up being ok, but right now it just doesn't look like we are going to make it. The other assistant is ready to quit because she is so stressed out. I know the feeling.
Anyway, it is time for Young and the Restless, one of my two TV vices...the other being the Biggest Loser, so that is all for now.

I haven't updated much lately. Mostly because I am lazy...LOL. Also because I work at Walgreens, and the MOST HORRIBLE part of the year has just ended. Yes, I am speaking of Christmas. I love Christmas as long as it has nothing to do with Walgreens.
Speaking of Christmas...I did pretty well this year. Clay gave me money to add to my Vegas fund. That was very exciting. C'mon April.
I bought some fleece pajama pants at Walmart this evening and they are like heaven on my legs. So warm and cozy...yay. OOOh and I got the 25 Anniverary Edition of Phase 10. It comes with special cards and a score pad and stuff. I love that game. That and Skip-bo. What ever happened to the card game? Nobody makes any new ones anymore. I love UNO too...I play it online on msn. I grew up playing all these games so maybe that is why I love them so much.
Until next time.

Ahhh...working retail at Christmas...my idea of a wonderful holiday. It has been sufficiently crazy so far, and will only get worse over the weekend. I am off Saturday but will be stuck in hell on Sunday evening and I am closing on Christmas Eve! Ahhh!
It is actually kind of fun to work on Christmas Eve at Walgreens. Everyone is frantic because they waited until the last minute to buy gifts. People get the most random crap to give as gifts. Stuff no one would want, but they don't have any other choice because all the people that came in hours earlier than them already bought all the stuff that didn't suck.
Anyway. Gotta get ready for work.

So I totally splurged yesterday and bought something I probably shouldn't have.
They just opened a Coach store in the mall near me and I went in to take a look...of course. I have been eyeing a purse at Macy's for a couple months now, and they didn't have it there. I figured that it was last season, so I decided to go down to Macy's to see if it was on sale.
It was, and I bought it. I got a $398 purse for $180 bucks. Wowza. I really shouldn't have, because I am trying to get out of debt, but I figure I can pay it off in like 2 or 3 months. I ended up signing up for a Macy's card to get an extra discount, so once I pay off the purse, that card is getting cut up.
Woo...it is a Patchwork Carly...the summer version I guess with blues/purples.

I just got done watching a special on Discovery Health Channel called You! On a Diet...you know, the Dr. Oz book. Anyway, I guess they made this special to show how their program really works. If I thought that Dr. Oz and Dr. Roizen were going to show up at my house and make sure I did the right thing, I might actually do the right thing all the time, instead of just some of the time. Like dinner for example...we went to a Lebanese restaurant...and it was FABULOUS! On the other hand, it was bad for me, because I got falafel. I also had tabouli and hummus, which aren't really bad, but the falafel kinda ruined the whole healthiness of the dinner. I knew exactly what I was doing...kind of like how when we got home and someone had gotten candy at work and put it on the table...I know I dont' need that, but I ate it anyway.
UGh. I lost 40 pounds so easily. I didn't even really exercise. Now I think I am to a point where I really am going to have to exercise, and it sucks. I am going to be totally honest...I don't like doing any of it really. I have been taking the dog for a walk...that has been my exercise the last week. Some people at work don't think that that is really "exercise," but it hurts me to do much more than that. I know, no pain, no gain, but I have a very stressful job, especially this time of year, and I can't handle feeling like crap on top of dealing with customers/employees/bs/etc.
Basically, I need my motivational level to come back up. I am a month away from my 1 year anniverary at Weight Watchers...and I so wanted to make it to 52 pounds, so that I could say I lost at least a pound a week on average...I don't think I am going to make it. I was so excited in the beginning...I need that back again...but I won't quit in the mean time.

So I finally finished Harry Potter. All of em. I started in June I think (at the beginning) and now it is over for me. I am excited about the movies that are left, I just hope that they don't mess them up as much as they did the last two. Especially the Order of the Pheonix. We argue about this at work quite often actually. I think that sometimes the movies leave waaaaayyyy to much stuff out. Important stuff. Like Dobby being at Hogwarts. Blah...whatever. The guys at work say that all the movies would have to be like 10 hours each to get everything in. I don't want everything...just stuff that is going to be mentioned in later books...you know?
Ok. End HP movie rant.
My only wish is that Rowling would have given us a bit more in the epilogue...but I am a sucker for the after story. The end of Sex and the City pisses me off too..but I guess that will be fixed next year when the movie comes out. May 30, 2008. Mark your calendars people!! LOL.
In other news...well there isn't much really. Still doing WW, still steadily plateauing but not giving up. I am fitting into smaller jeans so I guess I should be happy. I am going to see Blue Man Group with Clay and my cousin and his wife this weekend. My cousin rented a limo, mostly because he has more money than sense...but whatever...I am excited. I even got a new oufit for the occasion....pic under cut...

Last night I bought tickets to a concert on Thursday. It is a "Back to Old School" concert. I mostly bought the tickets to see All-4-One and Jordan Knight, but PM Dawn and one of the guys from 98 Degrees is going to be there. I am going with my friend Tony from Walgreens. I told him I would buy the tickets if he would drive...hollah. Anyway, I am very very excited. I am such a nerd. I had a serious All-4-One obsession when I was 15. Actually my sister took me to the state fair to see them on my 15th birthday...awwww.
We just got back from another trip to West Texas. It was fun...I ate and drank wayyyy too much, but still managed to lose .2 at my WW meeting, so I was happy.
I am on vacation right now and the lack of Walgreens is so nice. No stress. No high school kids calling me bad names. If only it could last. Ha...I have to go back on MOnday.

There is really not much excitement in my life right now.
I have been working alot lately, which is always the highlight of my day. Work is actually pretty good right now....not much to complain about anyway. On Sunday we are starting our annual donation thing for Juvenile diabetes. I made a bunch of stuff with my computer and we are going to make a super fabulous bulletin board about it when I get to work today. Exciting!! There are WAG sponsored prizes, but I decided to add one of my own. I made a sign that with permission of the other managers should do alot in the area of encouraging the employees. Whichever employee sells the most sneakers in our store gets to throw a pie in the face of the manager of their choice. That would definately get me if I was still a clerk.
I am still reading Harry Potter. I am now reading the Order of the Phoenix. I saw the movie a couple weeks back and it amazes me how much stuff they change. You learn like a million times more about what is really happening if you read the books. They leave entire storylines out of those movies...nuts. I know, I know, they can't include everything, but I am just saying. It is so hard to avoid spoilers on the intarwebs...I swear. I already know who is going to die in the next couple of books...not every person, but quite a few. I can't just stay away from LJ until I am done reading...that would take way too long.
We are going out of town Labor Day weekend, and I am so looking forward to just getting away from Arlington. Not any one person or place in particular, just away. We are going to Rotan to visit Clay's family again and he is going to work on a trailer for his sort-of-aunts golf cart. These people are tons of fun. I happen to be on vacation during that time too...woot! The next Saturday there is a meetup at Fort Woof Dog Park that I might take Missy to so that she can meet some other boxers. Is giving ice to dogs bad?? She loves loves loves it and makes this sad puppy face at me so I will give it to her...LOL.
Anyway, enough for now.
